Jail Ministry Update – November 2019

On November 22nd, 12 ladies will graduate from their 12-Step Recovery Addiction Class at the Fannin County Detention Facility. Donna Armontrout has joined with Vicki Watson as volunteers for this program. This class is the fifth class to graduate since 2017. Of the 12 ladies graduating, there is a wide variety of ages from 19, to a grandmother of nine grandchildren. Three of the ladies have achieved perfect attendance. All have done daily homework consisting of a scripture reading, application and journal entry using the resources in the Life Recovery Bible (purchased/provided by The Way). This program consists of 84 daily readings completed. Each Friday the homework is checked, discussed, and the tools of recovery are given to begin the new life each of these ladies wants to build. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone belongs to Christ, then he is made new. The old things have gone; everything is made new!” One young lady wrote, “I don’t care how long it takes to harvest what God wants for me, but one thing I can say is now that I know about Him, I want to follow Him and know more about Him and the blessings He has for me.” All of these ladies will be transferring to new facilities in the coming months. We want to pray that they keep growing in their faith and take the message of Jesus everywhere they go.
